…that if you never fall, you aren’t trying hard enough.
I often get asked, usually by children, if I ever fall while tap dancing. Now fortunately, I have not fallen in front of an audience in years (though I have come close on several occasions), but rehearsals are a another thing.
When I have fallen, it was usually because I was attempting something new; taking a risk. Falling was just a part of the learning process. In life we often fail to take risks due to the fear of falling, not realizing that this is just a natural part of getting better. Of course, falling is painful and potentially embarrassing but, more often than not, what you learn from the fall is so worth it!
