Today is a Holiday too!

Happy Tap Day everyone.

Today, May 25th, is National Tap Dance Day…no really! This day was chosen because it is the birthday of the late, great Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, one of the most famous tap dancers of all time.

You can read the inspiring story of how this day came into being HERE!

You can also find the text to the Tap Day Bill, which was signed into law by the elder President George Bush on November 7, 1989, HERE!

Here is a link to the Wikipedia article about Bill “Bojangles Robinson!

And last but not least…you know I had to include a video of “Bo” dancing! In this clip he is dancing with Shirley Temple. (Note: Pay attention to how he mostly dances up on his toes.) He is absolutely amazing on these stairs!

If you know of any special tap dance classes, workshops, or performances taking place for National Tap Dance Day, please post them here!
