Dance, Tap Dance News, Terrence Taps

Happy 2013 everyone…let’s start this year on a different foot!

I’m offering a new live online tap lesson series starting next week and would love for you to attend!

You’ll be learning tap steps I’ve set to “The Sound of Sunshine” by Michael Franti & Spearheads. I chose this song because I can use a little sun here in the dead of Winter!

Here are the details:

Cost: Just $15

Length of Class: Approx. 50 minutes

Spaces Available: 9 Max per class

Levels offered: Basic, Level 1, & Level 2. Scroll down for an explanation of each level and the lesson schedule.

How does it work?

I’ll teach these lessons live on Skype. Each level is being offered 9 times next week so you should have no trouble finding one that fits your schedule. When you register, be sure to include your Skype username as a comment on the transaction. Without this information I will be unable to invite you into the class. If you don’t have a Skype account, don’t worry it’s simple. Sign up for a FREE account here. Please note that Skype video calls are also free so you do not need to purchase minutes or credits.

Find your skill level below and select the time that is most convenient! The schedule is set to Eastern Standard Time.

Basic Tap Lessons – This level is best for those who have little to no knowledge of tap. If you’ve never tap danced before, sign up for one of these. Tap shoes for this level are optional if you just want to try it out.

Level 1 Tap Lessons – If you are already comfortable with basic tap steps, this is the level for you. This is also a good place to start if you haven’t danced in many years. Here we’ll experiment with putting steps together in novel ways. Finally, if you’re normally an intermediate level student but have had little exposure to rhythm tap, you might want to test this level out as well.

Sounds great! I won’t be able to do any of these, but I’d be interested in weekend times in the future – I have a desk job during the day & teach every weeknight. Thanks!

Wow! You’re super busy…I can relate. Would you be interested in scheduling a private lesson over the weekend? The rates for those are very reasonable as well. Let’s see what we can work out. :)

  3. Bob Says:

Is this a series of lessons starting on the dates above, or just the one 50-minute lesson on only those dates?

  4. TL Says:

This is awesome! So, at this point, we’d be signing up for one lesson only? Will this be a weekly series? Twice monthly?

  5. Becky Says:

    Hi,

I’m interested in giving this a try. I currently take weekly tap lessons, and love it. Another class would be great. I’m not sure what level I should take. I have never taken rhythym tap, just regular. My class is just called adult tap, but I’m guessing it’s intermediate. We are working on Grade 6 and while not perfect, I can also do things like draw backs, turning maxi ford, wings, rifts, cramp rolls, double & triple time steps, etc. My speed is not that great though and I’ve seen some of your teaching snipits. I’m afraid level 2 might move too fast. Do you think level 1 or 2 would be best? Thanks.

    Hi Bob,

I will likely continue these classes in coming weeks. If none of those times work for you, you might also consider doing a private lesson so you can catch up and be ready for the next session. Let me know!

    Hi Tara,

I’d like for this to be weekly. That’s currently the plan!

    Hi Becky,

Play it safe…go with Level 1 for now. This will allow you to get used to the online format and see how comfortable you are with my style. If it’s too easy, you can switch for the next one.
